I am proud to have been part of this on-going project since it began 20 years ago with the staff at Cal State Dominguez Hills. Renewed interest by a committee to produce a feature documentary is now headed by Rod Hay and Mario Congreve.

During the 1990s, I was Director of the Portal of the Folded Wings Shrine to Aviation and Museum in North Hollywood, where aviator A. Roy Knabenshue [1876-1960] is buried. [www.portalofthefoldedwings.net]

The late Huell Howser filmed a segment of his popular television show, “Visiting” which included an interview with Knabenshue’s grandson, Mark. It is viewed as Episode #426. [https://blogs.chapman.edu/huell-howser-archives/?s=Brand+Library]

Mark Knabenshue and I visited the Rancho Dominguez Adobe Museum at which time the late Father Patrick McPoland accepted the donation of A. Roy Knabenshue’s 1910 Dominguez Air Meet ribbon for display in the museum. [dominguezrancho.org]
